Dear Yoga Visionaries and Enthusiasts
As I watch the evolution of this work, I have tremendous faith that it holds great value for our children today, their lives tomorrow, and for all of us who carry the Yoga Torch. People everywhere are lighting up with this magic Yoga formula:

Attention on Yoga’s strategic forms, vital breath, vision and dynamic stillness reduces stress, enhances flexibility, cultivates strength and balance, opens the heart and mind, and infuses vitality and health into the whole being.
When we think about children, we think of them as flexible, spontaneous, open, playful, free, and more….
Yes! ...and no…
Children deal with stresses of their own: theirs is a world of peer pressure, parents’ and society’s expectations, competition, bullying, disappointment, resistance; they are inundated with forms and sounds: video games, cars, speed, headline news, name brand running shoes, the concrete jungle of urban life. The refreshing opportunity to breathe, relax, stretch, balance, strengthen and be still gives them a welcome new way of knowing themselves in body, mind, and spirit. The qualities that are naturally evolving through Yoga allow them to glean the merit from the world around them by reinforcing the inherent value of the world within them. In fact, these are not at all separate. By becoming peaceful, loving, healthy, and vital, the world is a welcome home.
I look forward to the gathering of the great people who love kids, love yoga, and dig life!
It is always a unique and memorable experience to get to know you all and to share such meaningful moments together.
All the best, and see you there,

GABRIOLA ISLAND YOGATHON
The Western Canadian Pediatric AIDS Society invites you to join hundreds of others in performing 108 sun salutations to raise money for children impacted by HIV/AIDS. All proceeds and pledges raised will help send children to Camp Moomba - a summer camp program designed to restore the young spirits of those whose lives are affected by this disease.
The 3rd annual Yogathon is setting a new precedent with the participation of Gabriola Islanders. We will bring our active commitment to universal health and well-being as we gather at Twin Beaches to collectively perform 108 sun salutations for a most worthy cause (see below). We will be led by different Yoga practitioners and mentors on the island, including the young, budding Yoga Kids amongst us.
I welcome you to get on board to help create a memorable event. Join in as we ceremoniously inaugurate the Yogathon on our island. Moms & dads, kids of all ages, come one come all. Musicians & dancers are invited to enliven us all with their rhythm and movement.
Anyone who would like to join us Yogathon Yogis is invited to a special preparatory Sun Salutation class at Eternal Flow Studio, time to be announced.
If you would like to be part of a great occasion below, check out the info below, and register for a Gabriola Island Yogathon, get your pledges, and give worthy kids a chance to experience life in natural and joyful surroundings. Please forward this to any friends who might like to participate.
